A LITTLE UPDATE

Newsletter #52

“There’s a lot shifting across ad tech right now, from where advertising budgets are moving to the technology being built to capture and measure them.

This month, we’re seeing that play out across search, advertising, measurement, creative and media. OpenAI is continuing to build out ChatGPT’s advertising capabilities with product carousels and third-party attribution, while Adobe is bringing more than 70 Creative Cloud tools directly into ChatGPT. At the same time, the rapid expansion of AI infrastructure is raising new questions about the physical footprint needed to support it.

The media landscape is moving too. Netflix says advertiser commitments have nearly doubled as it strengthens its programmatic offering, while The Trade Desk is looking to platform upgrades, partnerships and AI following a tougher quarter.

On the Louder blog, we’re looking at what’s changing on the measurement side. Google’s latest Floodlight changes could make server-side tagging a much more practical part of the measurement stack, while CM360 continues to evolve into a broader cross-channel measurement platform.

And with ChatGPT attracting more attention and building out its advertising capabilities, we’re asking the bigger question: can it genuinely challenge Google for advertising spend, or does Google’s hold on search behaviour still give it the advantage?

If you find value in Louder’s analysis and industry commentary, add Louder as a Preferred Source in your Google Search settings. As AI becomes more embedded into Search, it may help ensure you see more of Louder’s latest insights when researching advertising, measurement and ad tech developments.”
