The Australian government has been presented with new privacy laws which protect children from targeted ads, redefines what is considered as PII and allows Australians to sue companies for privacy breaches. These reforms will also be applicable to small business to enhance privacy protection.

Yahoo Australia have announced their new partnership with Amplified Intelligence to bring attention measurement metrics to advertisers in 2024. This partnership will help boost Yahoo DSP in addition to their existing attention optimisation partnerships with Playground XYZ and Adelaide.

Google lets publishers opt out of AI training data

Google has released a new product, Google-Extended, which allows publishers to opt out of having their data being used to train AI models such as Bard and Vertex AI generative APIs. Some publishers are showing concern as blocking these crawlers could potentially mean publishers are “losing out on appearing in search results”.

Introducing data redaction

Google’s new data redaction feature helps prevent the collection of PII including email addresses and URL query parameters by identifying text patterns and removing any text that is understood as an email address or query parameter key-value. Email data redaction is on by default when a new property is created, however, this feature will require a manual enablement for all properties created prior to the feature release.

Multiply your creativity with AI-powered tools for search ads

Automatically created assets in Google Ads are now available by creating search ads with relevant headlines and descriptions based on your ad’s context. This includes the landing page and any existing ads which help to make your ad more relevant and improve ad strength. This feature has been extended to be made available to 7 additional languages and also utilise AI to generate assets for advertisers in the US and UK.

Added Reach measurement for Programmatic Guaranteed deals

The Added Reach measurement was first introduced in April 2023 but has now been added for Programmatic Guaranteed deals through a reach widget and offline reports. The widget is only displayed if a frequency cap is set at the campaign level.

Google Ads compliant click tracking tags can now be exported from CM360 whilst still using CM360’s advanced click tracking features. This includes click event tags and landing page suffixes.

Add voice-overs to video projects

Voice-overs can now be added to video projects with 18 languages available, including English, Hindi, Spanish, German and Japanese. This provides a “lifelike text-to-speech” voice over and the ability to reduce the volume of the video audio in order to hear the voiceover much clearer.
