A LITTLE UPDATE

Apple is back in the headlines, and its latest Safari privacy changes are raising fresh questions about the value advertisers are getting from programmatic media. With The Trade Desk reportedly caught up in Apple’s latest restrictions, we’re looking at what this means for advertisers, measurement and why a cheaper media buy doesn’t necessarily deliver better value.
Measurement is another big theme this month. As AI changes how people discover brands, traditional analytics aren’t capturing the full picture, leaving marketers with gaps in their understanding of where traffic is coming from. And despite having more data and measurement tools than ever, getting reliable answers about what’s actually working remains surprisingly difficult.
Across the wider industry, Australian digital advertising spend continues to grow, even as agencies face a slowdown. OpenAI is expanding advertising measurement within ChatGPT, Google faces further legal pressure over its ad tech business, and privacy enforcement continues to make headlines.
Plenty happening across the industry this month. Here’s what you need to know.
