Display & Video 360 (DV360)
Google’s enterprise programmatic platform for managing audiences, media buying, supply quality and measurement across channels.
What it is
Display & Video 360 (DV360) is Google’s enterprise platform for buying programmatic media across display, video, connected TV, audio and other digital channels.
It brings campaign management, audiences, inventory, bidding, frequency, brand safety and creative together in one platform, while connecting with Campaign Manager 360 for measurement and ad serving.
DV360 also supports open-auction buying, private marketplace deals, preferred deals and programmatic guaranteed, giving advertisers different ways to access and manage media supply.
Why it matters
Programmatic buying is increasingly automated, but automation still depends on the quality of the signals, inventory and controls it is given.
Inside DV360, those decisions range from the conversion data used for bidding to the audiences campaigns target and the supply they are allowed to buy.
That makes good platform design and governance increasingly important. A well-managed DV360 environment gives automation stronger inputs while helping organisations maintain control over where budgets are spent and how performance is measured.
What Louder does
- Activation - campaign architecture, audience strategy, creative trafficking, deal management.
- Supply governance - inclusion lists, deal-first strategies, MFA exclusion, supply-path optimisation against the auction log data.
- Measurement integration - Floodlight design, server-side conversion forwarding, BigQuery export use.
- Operational support - ongoing bid strategy tuning, reporting cadence, supply audits.
- Migration - moves between agencies, between accounts or from independent DSPs.
Common challenges
- Default supply paths. Out of the box, DV360 buys across thousands of exchanges and resellers. Without active governance, spend leaks into low-quality and arbitrage paths.
- Floodlight neglect. The conversion configuration set up at launch is never revisited. Six months later, automated bidding is optimising against a stale signal.
- One-account-to-rule-them-all. All clients, all brands and all markets crammed into one DV360 partner. Reporting becomes unworkable and audience leakage is hard to prevent.
- No use of the BigQuery export. DV360 ships log-level data to BigQuery. Most organisations never query it. The platform’s reporting UI hides most of what teams actually need to see.
